A strong batter, who was the first HP player to hit a six , Southampton born Charlotte was a leading player for Eastleigh and Otterbourne before the club migrated to Hursley. She played in the first ever game for the new club and was a key component in our first two seasons, leading the individual run charts on both occasions and earning the Player of the Year award in our inaugural year. Charlotte scored four half-centuries in sixteen innings for the club.

Having graduated from St.Mary’s University she obtained her first PE teaching role and moved to South London at the end of the 2007 season, joining Twickenham Cricket Club. Over the ensuing years she was a regular opponent as HP and Twickenham had some keenly contested games and remains a good friend of several of her former Hursley teammates.

This is what Claire had to say in January 2021:

Teaching PE and living in Sunbury-on-Thames. Still very much involved in sport, playing hockey at Surbiton HC and playing cricket at Twickenham, for our Staff team and for the MCC. Hoping to improve my golf handicap in the next couple of years so cricket may take a back seat!

I think Sunday nights in and out in Eastleigh/ Otterbourne have to be the abiding memory of my early years of cricket (blooming naughty charades).

I’ve really enjoyed seeing how Emma, Jemma and Phil have developed HP into a dominant force!
