Under 16 Batter of the Year  2019

Having impressed playing against us for Parley, Hannah joined HP for the 2018 and immediately made an impact in both the under 16 team and the 2nd X1.  Her aggressive batting and attacking style of wicket-keeping, standing up to the stumps on most occasions, adds much to the team, as does her verbal encouragement and banter.

In 2019 she was a key part in a second under 16 league triumph, and also played regularly for the 2s as they clinched the Hampshire League title. Often playing purely as a batter she made scores of 37, 41, 38 and 34 in consecutive innings in the vital run-in. She was also a non-playing member of our Kia Summer Smash success at the Oval. As part of the HP Pirates squad she was again a Hampshire League Winner in 2020. As with most of our players, Hannah also plays a full part in our indoor programme and won the league fielder award in 2019.

In addition to being a talented cricketer Hannah is in the national Handball squad and won a Handball Scholarship to Loughborough College, commencing in September 2020.  Since being there she has been training with the Loughborough Lightning Cricket Academy, and will be playing for Hampshire under 17s again in 2021

An outgoing personality, who always has a tale to tell, Hannah is, according to her parents, the quieter of the two Saunders sisters, which we all find hard to believe!
