Kat is the sort of the player that is so essential to every club.

Without ever being able to play regularly, through her commitments as a high-level football official and latterly through her job as a Prison Warden, Kat has often been the ‘go-to’ person who will fill in at short notice, regardless of which team she is in, where, or what her role is.

Whenever she does play Kat gives everything – chasing every ball down in the field and happily fulfilling a variety of jobs; wicket-keeper, bowler, only fielder on the leg-side (yes, that was a thing!) and even tried batting left-handed for a while when things weren’t working the other way. Her highest score is 32, constructed entirely of boundaries (batting right-handed).

A keen tourist, Kat joined us on our first three overseas adventures and impressed everybody on the Denmark trip with her ability to sleep in any given situation, even when standing up.

Kat’s appearances have become less frequent in recent years but, filling in for the indoor ‘C’ team in 2020 she was part of the side that ended the ‘A’ team’s long unbeaten run at Eastleigh.
