Also a good footballer, Mia first played for us in 2019, joining fully in 2020.

A wicket-keeper/batter primarily, she displayed her all-round abilities when she bowled in the opening under 14 game of the season at Ropley, including the crucial final over in a narrow win, and was twice on a hat-trick. She finished with figures of 5-8.

Mia made her senior debut as a wicket-keeper later in the summer, taking the gloves in the Parrots win against Cove, and when Ariana Dowse was withdrawn from the final first team game of the season due to coronavirus issues at the Vipers bubble, she made the last minute dash to Ansty and kept well in a 45 over game, 25 overs longer than she had previously kept for in a match. And when crucial runs were needed at the end of a terrific game it was Mia and fellow under 13 Eve O’Neill who calmly saw us home.

Also in 2020 Mia made her maiden century, playing for Hampshire under 13s in Wales – and in 2021 will be part of the County under 15 squad as well as being selected for the EPP programme.

Mia plays with a confidence that belies her age, and we are looking forward to her further development in 2021.
