The ladies section of Hursley Park Cricket Club has been established to provide an enjoyable and safe environment for girls and ladies to develop their individual skills within a competitive team environment. Benefitting from playing at one of Hampshire’s finest venues we have sustained and developed a cricket programme which has grown within ten years to be the most successful ladies club in the county. As well as our first eleven having risen to the highest echelons of club cricket in the country, our second eleven competes in Division 1 of the Hampshire League (2015 champions) and our juniors have been successful at all ages, including winning the inaugural county under 16 cup in 2014. Coupled with our many successes in indoor cricket these achievements have underpinned our ambition to become the leading womens cricket club in the country.
We welcome players of all ages and abilities to come and join the ladies and girls section of Hursley Park Cricket Club. We have a full 12 month programme of competitive and friendly cricket for all. We have kicked previous summers off with a pre-season tour. We have two ladies teams that play in the National Premier League and Hampshire Cricket Legaue respectively. We also play in 6-a-side tournaments and play evening friendlies. Our girls enter teams into the Winchester District legaues at all ages and also the county cup. Both juniors and seniors train weekly at our home ground during the summer season. When the summer comes to an end, we switch to a full on winter schedule:
Winter: During the winter our junior girls compete in the indoor leagues at River Park, whilst our seniors take part in the adult equivalent in the South Hants Indoor League at Fleming Park. We also enter the Serious Cricket league at Dummer cricket centre where we bring the juniors and seniors together. Our A team in the senior league also play in division 2 of the mens league at Fleming Park, following promotion last season as champions. We also enter the National indoor competition which we won in 2015. There are indoor training sessions for juniors and seniors during the winter months.
